The Pursuit of Happyness

After watching Derailed, I switched to HBO. I submitted to seeing The Pursuit of Happyness for the first time. The film is a story of Chris Gardner, his dream of becoming a successful stockbroker, his hardships, and the struggles he went through while taking custody of his son Christopher.

Many emotions surrounded the movie. Chris, as he narrates throughout, explained that the key to happiness is always the pursuit of it. Certainly very true and very obvious. The scenes where they were evicted from their home, slept in a public comfort room, fell in line in a charity home just to have shelter for the night for his son, really touched my heart. Chris' conviction to make a decent and bright future for him and his son was the paramount highlight of the movie.

If you are one of the fortunate many who has known the story of Chris Gardner, here is the ending of the movie that brought me to tears. This I think is the most wonderful emotion ever drawn by this true story.

Directed by Gabriele Muccino, Will Smith plays Chris, Jaden Smith as Christopher, Thandie Newton as Linda, and Brian Howe as Jay Twistle.
