A former associate here at USW dropped by this afternoon after two years of a study grant in Japan.
She brought us a Japanese delicacy called Mochi.
Mochi is a Japanese rice cake pounded and molded into different shapes. These are stuffed with sweet filling, often with strawberry or red bean paste.
A mochitsuki meaning making mochi is a rice pounding celebration done every end of the year.
