Derailed

Last Sunday night, as soon as Ron and Uno went to bed, I finally found the time to watch television in peace. Hehe.

I reckon HBO and Star Movies are improving these days. They feature more blockbuster films than ever. And so when I jumped to these channels, I luckily caught the beginning of a Jennifer Aniston-Clive Owen starrer on Star Movies. The film is entitled Derailed.

Derailed is a suspense drama that tackled the life of Charles Schine (Clive Owen), a devoted family man who works as a writer for commercials. He and his wife Deanna are able to answer for their diabetic daughter's needs because Charles earns good money from his work.

His normal life begins to be shattered when he meets Lucinda Harris (Jennifer Aniston) in the train one day, they meet and dine a couple of times, and they fall in love apparently. One night, while in a hotel room, a guy put a gun in their fates and the real twist begins.

I liked the suspense-filled plot of the movie. Charles' guilt and remorse led him to get his money back for the sake of his family. In the end after all, it's always the truth that wins, and the good guy who prevails.

The movie is directed by Mikael Håfström. Also stars Vincent Cassel (LaRoche), Melissa George (Deanna Schine), and Addison Timlin (Amy Schine).
