Earth Hour

April 1, 2008

This other news bit is not to be missed.

Last March 29 the Philippines participated in the Earth Hour.

Organized to contribute to the preservation of our environment and the battle against global warming, the entire Metro Manila and the rest of the country turned off lights for an hour.

This is one true test of solidarity among Filipinos. Many companies and establishments joined this project as well making it an overwhelming success.

According to the Worldwide Fund for Nature, about 56 megawatt hours (MWh) were conserved by a million Filipinos in 50 cities and towns nationwide as recorded with Meralco.
